Quarry Collection by Waterware

At Waterware, we’re always looking for new ways to blend form and function, offering homeowners and designers innovative solutions that elevate both aesthetics and utility. Our Quarry range of basins is a perfect example of this, reimagining the classic material of concrete with a fresh approach that feels right at home in modern interiors.

A Fresh Take on Concrete

Concrete has long been appreciated for its durability and industrial appeal. With Quarry, we’ve elevated it further by using a specially formulated blend that’s been colour-sealed, creating a smooth, hand-finished texture. This soft finish allows concrete to shed its rugged exterior and adopt a more refined, natural look—perfect for contemporary spaces that require both beauty and function.

Dunstan and Tussock: Echoes of Otago’s Landscape

The Dunstan and Tussock wall-hung powder room basins are at the heart of the Quarry collection, designed to reflect the natural beauty of New Zealand’s Otago region. The muted colour palette is inspired by the hues found in Otago’s sweeping landscapes—from the rugged mountains to the golden tussock fields. This palette grounds each piece in nature, while the hand-finished process ensures that no two basins are exactly the same.

By opting for subtle curves and minimalist design, we’ve softened the traditionally industrial concrete into a material that feels organic and inviting. The basins are available in two versatile options: pre-drilled for deck-mounted taps or undrilled for wall-mounted tapware, making them adaptable to a range of bathroom designs. We’ve also included a pop-up waste with a matching concrete dome for a clean, seamless look that ties the entire basin together.

Built to Last, Designed for Care

The Quarry basins are designed to withstand everyday use, with their colour-sealed finish offering a high level of water resistance. However, like any handcrafted item, these basins require a bit of care to keep them looking their best. Abrasive cleaners, harsh scrubbers, or acidic soaps can damage the finish over time. Instead, we recommend using mild, non-abrasive, non-ammonia, and non-acidic cleaners, paired with a soft cloth for general maintenance.

For those living in areas with high lime content in the water, we suggest applying a wax to the sink every six months to preserve its surface and protect against scale buildup. These simple steps will help maintain the integrity of the concrete and keep the basins looking as beautiful as the day they were installed.

A Collaboration with Michelle Bellamy: Bringing the Landscape to Life

To truly capture the essence of the Otago region that inspired the Quarry collection, we’ve partnered with New Zealand artist Michelle Bellamy. Her captivating landscapes, such as Falling Dusk and Home Hills Run, mirror the earthy tones and serene beauty of the Otago region that the Dunstan and Tussock ranges aim to reflect.

Michelle Bellamy’s artwork brings the wild beauty of nature into our design story, connecting each basin’s muted tones and soft curves with the landscapes that inspired them. This collaboration not only adds visual depth to the Quarry collection but also highlights the shared values of craftsmanship and appreciation for natural beauty between Waterware and Michelle Bellamy.

The Quarry collection is more than just a range of basins—it’s a statement about how we can reimagine materials and bring them into the modern home. Whether you’re a homeowner looking to infuse a touch of nature into your bathroom or an installer seeking durable, beautiful fixtures, the Quarry range offers something unique. At Waterware, we believe that the materials in your home should tell a story, and with Quarry, that story is one of timeless beauty, utility, and connection to the landscape.
